Earthquake

Role: Designer, Developer, Debugger

This game is the Cascade version of Tetris® but with earth shaking tremors to make it more challenging. Players clear lines as in classic Tetris® but blocks remaining after a horizontal line has been cleared will fall into empty cells below. If these blocks fall and complete another line, that line will be cleared as well. The more consecutive cascades, the greater the scoring. Slow play will cause earthquakes to shake the screen. Furthermore, the result of these quakes will be fault lines and more garbage. This makes it harder to clean up the matrix. Clear lines quickly to relieve the tectonic pressure.

Tempest

Role: Debugger

There are two matrices in the game. You are playing both of them. Strong gusts of wind will turn the windmill and allow you to play the other matrix. If you see the tornado, it's a sure sign that the matrix will be spinning soon. There is not a classic 'Hold' in this game. The 'Hold' key allows you to pass the next Tetrimino to the opposite matrix.

Fire

Role: Debugger

Use the hard drop key to 'Superheat' the Tetriminos as they fall. Heat enough of them in one row to cause a chain reaction and clear up to 8 lines at once! How hot the Tetrimino will get is based on the distance it drops. The meter indicates how high you must hard drop the Tetrimino to achieve 'Superheat'. Tetriminos that are locked in the matrix will glow red hot to show that they are superheated. Clearing superheated Tetriminos that are locked down in the matrix causes explosions and creates higher scores.

Classic

Role: Special Effects Programming

This is the classic game of Tetris®! Control the Tetrimino as it falls down the matrix. Use the arrow keys to move the Tetrimino left or right. You can make your Tetrimino 'Soft Drop' or fall more quickly by pressing the down arrow. Press the spacebar to 'Hard Drop' and score even higher points. Watch the 'Next' queue to see what Tetrimino will enter the matrix. You can 'Hold' the Tetrimino that is in play by pressing the enter button to swap it out with the next Tetrimino or whatever is already in the Hold queue.

Ice

Icicles are forming at the top of the matrix. There are two types, regular and giant. Once they reach their maximum size, they will crack off and fall down to the bottom of the matrix. Regular Icicles capture any falling Tetriminos in its path and will drive the individual Tetrimino blocks through the locked Tetriminos at the bottom of the matrix. You can avoid being hit by an icicle by moving your Tetrimino out of the way as it is falling down the matrix. Any tetriminos hit by the icicle will slide into the lowest hole directly below. As the levels increase, icicles will form more often. They will also form faster as the amount of ice Tetriminos in the matrix increases. The giant icicle will fall leaving a layer of unbreakable white Tetriminos. The only way to remove this layer is to complete the line directly below it in the matrix. To remove the white lines, use the other falling icicles.

Stratosphere

This game is truly out of this world. Use the meteors to improve your score.

  • Garbage Meteor (Green) - This meteor will leave random 'garbage' blocks whenever it collides with another locked Tetrimino.
  • Breakimino Meteor (Red) - This meteor will destroy Tetriminos as it ricochets off them.
  • Breakthrumino Meteor (Blue) - This meteor only ricochets off the walls of the matrix and will destroy any Tetrimino it hits. Keep it in play and use it to destroy Tetriminos at the bottom of the matrix.
  • Explosive Meteor (White) - As soon as this super meteor hits a block it will destroy all the Tetriminos in the matrix.
